Ms. Badger's Social Butterflies
Your one-stop resource for all things 4th grade Social Studies
Parents,
Please check Infinite Campus to view your child's grade on their Social Studies quiz that was taken on 9-9. If you never had access to Infinite Campus, an access code was printed out for you and were given out either during Back to School Night or sent home in your child's binder in their Parent Communication Folder.
If your child scored below 70%, they will have an opportunity to recover the lower grade. Since we do not have any "extra" instructional time, your child will be given the opportunity to recover the lower grade either in their respective homerooms during their homeroom block this week, after school Wednesday tutorial (if they do not stay for ELA and MATH) or during lunch on Thursday. YOU MUST CHOOSE WHICH IS THE BEST TIME THAT WORKS FOR YOUR CHILD'S SCHEDULE AND EMAIL ME BACK. If I do not receive a response from you, I will keep your child for recovery on Thursday during lunch.
The the recovery opportunities are as follows:
*Naman and Siembieda 's Homeroom Block: Tuesdays at 12:55 p.m. - 1:40p.m.
*Wednesday Tutorial: 2:30 p.m.- 3:30p.m. (Parents please pick up your child at 3:30 p.m. sharp or they will be taken to After School Classe' and charged the drop in rate.)
*Badger and Fellows' Homeroom Block: Thursday at 1:40 p.m.- 2:25 p.m.
*Lunch on Thursday Noon -12:35 p.m.
The highest recovery grade that can be achieved is a 70% regardless of whether your child scores higher. If your child fails the recovery opportunity, the higher of the two grades will be recorded in the grade book.
If you see that your child is struggling academically with their core subjects and they do not have any academic time outside of their homerooms due to their participation in band, orchestra, and/or chorus. It is suggested to have extra homeroom opportunities be available to your child for reteaching rather than attending the extra art activities. No child will be taken out of these art classes without your permission. This is just giving you another perspective and option for reteaching opportunities available to your child during the school day. Without the art classes your child has three 45-minute reteaching sessions available to them. If your child participates in the art classes, he/she has one-to-two 45- minute reteaching opportunities available to them.
The Fourth Grade Schedule is a big jigsaw puzzle that we are continuously reworking to ensure that we meet the needs of each and every student. Your patience and support is greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me back. I will respond to you within the 48 hour time frame given. Thanks for all of your support.
